The Department of Parks and Recreation has many volunteer opportunities

These opportunities range from working in the parks as an individual, a business or a not-for-profit adopting a park. The department is always in search of park ambassadors. Park clean-ups, and park maintenance for community service hours is also available.

Our Community Centers and recreation programs welcome volunteers to enhance services. These opportunities include but are not limited to: coaches for youth sports (soccer, basketball, flag football); special events (Giant Egg Hunt, FitKids Triathlon, Tennis Tournaments, Halloween happening.); special interest programming (dance, art, crafts.); junior counselors (grades 9 - 12); tutors, computer instructors, lecturers, etc.

College Interns in pursuit of a career in parks and recreation are welcomed.

Special projects and office assistance throughout the year is also available.

Those wishing to volunteer with youth are required to undergo a background check due to specific state regulations regarding individuals working with children.
