Surveyor / Real Estate Supervisor: is responsible for verifying the accuracy of all surveys and plats submitted to the City for review by developers and individuals seeking to undertake private construction projects. He ensures these drawings comply with State regulations and City ordinances. He is a member of the Plan and Plat Review Committee (PPRC,) which reviews plans for new development. He also reviews water and sewer development plans.
The Supervisor manages the City's inventory of property and easements, including property that is acquired from the County. He assists in the acquisition of easements for the City. Real property acquired from delinquent tax rolls is located, assessed and then works closely with the Economic and Community Development Department to dispose of unneeded City property and in the acquisition of new property
The Surveyor / Real Estate Supervisor serves as the technical expert on surveying and real estate management within the City. He works close with the Law Department, clarifying agreements and providing expert testimony for the City in disputes that may arise relative to property. He also consults with developers, community groups and others on real estate management and responds to queries on legal descriptions, easements, right-of-ways and the transfer of property to and from the City.
